Fowler Park in Cumming, GA Scheduled to Open 2/25, Ribbon Cutting at 11:00 am

Forsyth County, GA has a new park! Situated along the new Greenway at Highway 9 near Castleberry Road, the 85-acre Fowler Park is opening on Friday, 2/25. UPDATE: Since this post, Fowler Park has a new web site and my blog has moved! Check out Forsyth for Families online and on Facebook!

The park is similar to Central Park and includes a skate park, designed by Wally Hollyday, the county’s first. The park will also add more space for athletics. Among them: a track; four baseball fields; six courts each for basketball and tennis; and six soccer/lacrosse fields.

Some other features include a paved walking trail that winds through the woods, the county’s largest pavilion, access to the Big Creek Greenway and a 5-acre passive area ideal for large events.
